Oceanvale Mortgage & Finance proudly brings you the 2019 Nanaimo Home Seminar – Invest in Nanaimo Real Estate - with key partner Myles McCullough of McCullough Marketing. As local businesses based in Nanaimo, we have always looked to help grow and develop the Nanaimo community. This seminar will be free for all to attend. Whether you are looking to see future prospects of owning investment real estate on Vancouver Island or just looking to get some quick stats on the real estate market with insights from industry experts, this is the place to be.

The event will be hosted by Nolan Smith, owner and managing broker of Oceanvale Mortgage & Finance and Myles McCullough, realtor at Remax of Nanaimo. The event will also feature insights and real estate statistics from Senior Account Manager of CMHC Client Relations, Cathy Tompkins, and Pershing Sun, Senior Economics Analyst from CMHC. The Mayor of Nanaimo, Leonard Krog, will speak at the event giving his vision regarding the housing market, and rental and investment property prospects in Nanaimo.

Who are they?

Nolan Smith: Nolan has been in the mortgage finance industry since 2007. His career started at a finance company that dealt with a complex demographic of borrowers. Nolan excelled as an advisor, then senior advisor, then Branch Manager and was a top performer in the company nation-wide. In January of 2016, Nolan set out to open the doors of Oceanvale Mortgage & Finance. Leading his team of mortgage professionals, Nolan believes in strategy, careful execution in real estate, and the power of an unforgettable customer experience.

Myles McCullough: Myles brings a fresh and creative approach to real estate with more than 15 years of experience. In fact, Myles enjoyed a successful sales career in Victoria and was awarded several top accolades for his sales performance and professionalism, including being ranked as one of Top 20 REALTORS for Coast Realty Nanaimo based on sales volume. Since joining Re/max in 2013 he has been awarded the Hall of Fame designation and achieved the platinum sales award for 2017. Community service is an important aspect of Myles’ life. He is personally involved in the fund-raising efforts for the Nanaimo Big Brothers & Sisters organization. Myles has been involved with Richard Robbins International and Floyd Wickman, professional real estate training programs to ensure that his clients receive the most up-to-date technology within the real estate industry.

Cathy Tompkins: Cathy has over 30 years experience in the mortgage industry with most of her time spent on Vancouver Island in various roles in the housing industry. In her current role at CMHC, Cathy is responsible for the training and education of mortgage professionals and industry partners on CMHC’s Mortgage Loan Insurance products and policies.

Pershing Sun: Pershing Sun is a Senior Economics Analyst in the Housing Market Insight Team based in Vancouver. She has worked on the rental market, resale market and various CMHC housing publications for markets in BC and the prairies. She holds an MA in economics from the University of Victoria and a BSc in economics from Dalhousie University. Before joining CMHC, she worked as a Senior Economist at the BC government on labor market-related issues.

Leonard Krog: A lawyer by profession, Leonard Eugene Krog currently serves as the Mayor of Nanaimo. A strong believer in public service, Leonard supports numerous local community charities and public events. A strong believer in the development of the Nanaimo community, he always looks for opportunities for the growth of Nanaimo.

The seminar will begin at 7 pm at the Vancouver Island Convention Centre, Nanaimo in the Dodd Narrows Room on the 21st of March, 2019. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
